U.S. Marines from MARFOREUR/AF travelled to West Africa to conduct an event in support of the WPS program as part of a national effort to promote the meaningful contributions of women in defense and security sectors around the world. WPS focuses on improving effectiveness of foreign policy and efforts by proactively integrating the needs and perspectives of women, while also empowering them to contribute their talents and energies to international peace, security, and prosperity.
