Black Sea Area Support Team’s mission is to provide base operations support to US Forces in the BSAST Theater of Operations (including Romania and Bulgaria). This includes, but is not limited to, providing life support, logistics support, base camp operations to US forces in the Area of Responsibility (AOR), reception, staging, and onward movement of US forces, fiscal management and budgetary activities, and coordination of force protection of US military and government civilians in the AOR. Black Sea Rotational Force 14 is a contingent of Marines to maintain positive relations with partner nations, regional stability and increase interoperability while providing the capability for contingency response, as directed by U.S. European Command, in the Black Sea, Balkan and Caucasus regions of Eastern Europe.
