Sergeant Major David M. Elliott

 

Sergeant Major David M. Elliott is a native of Newark, Delaware and enlisted in the Marine Corps in October 1997.  He completed recruit training aboard MCRD Parris Island with subsequent training and assignment as a Military Policeman.  He attained a variety of certifications and additional military occupational specialties throughout his career, to include: Special Reaction Team Member, Martial Arts Instructor, Drill Instructor, Military Police Investigator, Non-Lethal Weapons Instructor, and Assistant Marine Officer Instructor.  He serves as the principal enlisted advisor to the commander regarding implementation of command policy, enlisted manpower, professional development, discipline, morale and welfare.  

Assignments throughout his career include: Military Policeman, MWSS-274; Military Policeman and Special Reaction Team Member, MCAS Cherry Point; Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Series Gunnery Sergeant, MCRD Parris Island; Platoon Sergeant, 2d MP Bn; MP Operations Chief, CLB-8 (Fwd-OIF);  MP Operations Chief, CLB-6 (Fwd-OIF); Watch Commander and MP Training Chief, MCB Camp Lejeune; Sergeant Instructor, OCS, MCB Quantico; Assistant Marine Officer Instructor, U.S Naval Academy; Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant, 1st Bn 25th Marines; Company First Sergeant, 1st Bn 3d Marines (Fwd-UDP); Sergeant Major, HMLA-367; Sergeant Major, 2d Bn 1st Marines (Fwd-31st MEU); and Sergeant Major, 2d Marines.

Sergeant Major Elliott's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal w/gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal w/silver star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/three gold stars, and Combat Action Ribbon.
