A group of sailors with the Togolese Navy watch as Lance Cpl. Tyler Jackson, a Marine with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa 14.1, works on a small-boat engine in Lomé, Togo, March 25. Jackson and Spence put together a week-long training program of classroom instruction and practical application so the two groups of service members could partner together to fix engines. Established in 2011, Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa 14.1 is charged with supporting U.S. Africa Command and Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa’s theater security cooperation requirements.
